Job Description
What You'll Do:
As an Infrastructure Engineer in IS Mainframe Services space, you’ll work closely with other engineers as we configure, design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure processes for the Enterprise. You will learn and help evolve our DevOps practices through automation, continuous improvement, and learning. You will gain hands-on experience on modernization tools such as IDz, Git and UCD and be part of configuring and implementing the tooling. You will also be part of our efforts around defining and implementing a continuous delivery pipeline. We’re continually learning in our work as a team to build and maintain scalable infrastructure for our internal and external customers.

Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do:
  • Gain understanding of both mainframe and distributed batch.
  • Implement automation and build CI/CD pipelines using tooling such as Jenkins and XLR.
  • Learn about mainframe storage, CPU and capacity management.
  • Gain knowledge designing, building, and monitoring mainframe dashboards using ELK stack.
  • Trouble-shoot and problem-solve for applications.
  • Build knowledge of at least one scripting language (Groovy, Python).
  • Hands-on learning about various aspects of Infrastructure like MQ, ABP and Batch/CICS and modern mainframe tools.
  • Work in a team environment that uses pairing and mobbing to accomplish work.
Who You Are:
  • Development Experience in modern technologies (IT internship experience, community exposure, or professional experience)
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language.
  • Proven experience as an IT professional
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate’s degree when defining “equivalent work experience”)
  • Must have the desire and ability to learn new technology and continuously grow.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required.
  • Strongest candidates will have experience or interest in working with different technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred.

Required Technical Proficiencies:
  • Desire to help improve and drive critical changes to legacy mainframe enterprise applications and developer tooling to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Experience with configuring CI/CD tooling such as: (Digital AI, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deployment, Groovy Scripting, Bitbucket/GitHub).
  • Understanding of mainframe processes such as CICS environment, JCL, Cobol, zOS Connect and utilizing rest APIs is encouraged.
  • Experience/Understanding of Mainframe Developer tooling such as: (Compuware Tooling, IBM Tooling).
  • Hold the ability to research and troubleshoot critical application pipeline issues.
Tools used by the team:
  • Databases: DB2 for z/OS, IMS, VSAM• Modernization Tooling such as IDz, GIT, UCD, Digital AI, BitBucket/GitHub, Jenkins.
  • Content management and issue tracking: Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow.
  • OS: Mainframe Z/OS, Windows• Languages: Cobol, CICS. JCL/MVS, REXX, Groovy, Python.
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
