Job Description

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Capture and integrates auto discovery/inventory, financial and contractual data in a central repository for all IT assets.
  • Research industry best practices and compares against organization's practices in order to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets.
  • Oversee the accountability for a large number of physical components of computers and computer networks from acquisition through disposal.
  • Track and maintains an accurate inventory of all assets throughout their life cycle.
  • Manage the evaluation of proprietary Asset Management tools and recommends tools that will meet organization's budget, resources, timescale, and technical requirements.
  • Participate with the supervisor in planning, implementing, and evaluation the IT Asset Management activities.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the Information Technology Specialist (PLCYPLN) IT Asset Management position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

For the GS - 13 LEVEL:
Experience Requirements: You must have IT-related experience in each of the following four competencies listed below which must be supported by the information contained in your resume and other application materials.
  • Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
  • 3) Overseeing the accountability for a large number of physical components of computers and computer networks from acquisition through disposal; and
  • 2) Managing vendors software and hardware asset portfolios from requisition through retirement;
  • 1) Maintaining and update policies and procedures for effective asset life cycle management of IT assets;
  • 4) Implementing and oversee the administration of the IT Office Automation Asset Management request and approval process, procurement management, lifecycle management, redeployment and disposal management procedures and standards.(Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience)
