Position Summary
J.M. Huber Corporation offers a paid internship program in the Atlanta headquarters to provide undergraduate students with opportunities to discover the manufacturing industry, gain real-world and cross-functional experience, and develop professional skills and networks.
The Huber Engineered Materials Business Unit (HEM) will be hosting an Information Technology intern who will contribute as an IT Support Technician. This position will report to the Desktop Support Team Lead for Atlanta.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Help with daily tasks associated with IT Security compliance on workstations (antivirus, windows patching, OS, privilege management, hard disk encryption)
- Help with daily tasks associated with Hardware and Software Asset Management on workstations (PC refresh, licensing inventory, hardware inventory)
- Review & update IT asset inventory lists and IT documentation
- Under as-needed supervision, prepare laptops and computer equipment for employees
- Follow defined procedure to wipe and return old PCs to vendor, inventory and replace obsolete IT equipment
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, chat or email (heavly remote workforce)
- Support the Desktop Support team and triage new tickets
- Install, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
- Strong written and oral communication
- Proficient in the use of Windows 10 & Apple iOS, Computer Hardware, Office 365
- Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
- Strong customer service skills
- Currently pursuing a bachelors in or related to Computer Science, Data & Analytics, Information Technology, Business, or Hospitality/Customer Service
- Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks and related hardware and software.
Working Conditions
- Available to work 40 hours during the 10-week summer program (Focal Dates May 30 - August 4)
- Primarily on-site in Atlanta office, stationed in a large open bullpen area with 2-3 other team members
