LOCATION: Markham, ON CAN - Seattle, WA US – Hunt Valley, MD US

SALARY/PAY RANGE: $110,000 - $140,000 annual salary, with bonus

Project Description

Averro is currently seeking an Information Security Officer (ISSO) for our client. A rapidly growing software company that seeks out, acquires, and integrates software / systems. They provide these companies with the strategic guidance and financial security they need to become leaders in their respective markets.

The Information Security Officer will improve the design, development, and fielding of complex information systems while adapting security standards and governance to the real-world challenges of a large-scale, multi-location, multi-business and multi-cultural environment.

What You Will Do

• Communicates and translates information security policies, standards, and procedure requirements, and serves as a subject matter resource for company policies and standards.
• Acts as a liaison between the assigned area and Information Security Strategy. Provides support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Supports the implementation and communication of security training and awareness activities.
• Reviews the quality of the threat intelligence information received from the ITS Information Security organization and provide constructive feedback to the Information Security organization based on the needs of the assigned area.
• Supports the management and remediation of information security risks
• Performs analysis to identify critical data, assets, and processes in the assigned area.
• Recommends logging/monitoring rules and provides configuration management (CM) support for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
• Trains individuals within the assigned area on how to incorporate security into job functions and processes.
• Assists the assigned area with regulatory compliance assessments, security risk assessments, findings analysis, and remediation.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated understanding of information security and the relationship between threat, vulnerability, and information value in the context of risk management
• At least 1 year of Management experience
• Experience in designing, evaluating, and documenting processes
• Experience with EDR, IDR, and/or SEIM tools
• Experience with PCI, PII, HIPPA, GDPR compliancy standards
• Must have a bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education as a substitute for advanced education
• Familiarity with a variety of EDR, IDR, and Pen Testing tools.
• Experience leading teams in accomplishing process review and improvement
• Experience with M365 security, compliance, and DLP platform
• Must have 5 years of experience in Information Security
• Experience with security ratings and cybersecurity risk management tools
• Demonstrated working knowledge of information security fundamentals and concepts
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical counterparts.
• Strong analytical thinking and strong decision-making skills
