Industrial Designer Jobs

As an Industrial Designer, you will be an integral part of our design team, contributing fresh ideas and innovative concepts to the development of new products. Your role will involve collaborating with senior designers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to create aesthetically appealing, functional, and marketable designs. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects and gain valuable experience in the field of industrial design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Research: Conduct research on market trends, user preferences, and industry standards to gain insights and inform the design process. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and materials relevant to industrial design.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest design trends, tools, and techniques to enhance design skills and knowledge continuously.
• Prototyping: Support the prototyping process by creating physical prototypes using various materials and techniques. Participate in testing and evaluating prototypes for functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
• Design Validation: Contribute to usability studies and user feedback sessions to assess design performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Conceptualization: Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for new product concepts. Translate ideas into rough sketches and digital renderings to communicate design intent effectively.
• Design Development: Assist in the development of detailed design concepts by refining sketches and renderings into 3D models using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Collaborate with the team to iterate and refine designs based on feedback and requirements.
• Design Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and materials lists, to ensure smooth transition to the production phase.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, such as engineers, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure that designs meet technical requirements, cost targets, and are feasible for production.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, or Rhino) and graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite) is essential.
• Communication: Strong verbal and visual communication skills to effectively present ideas and collaborate with team members.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in design documentation and prototypes.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field is typically required.
• Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your design projects and skills is often required as part of the application process.
• Creativity: Demonstrated ability to think creatively and generate innovative design solutions that balance aesthetics and functionality.
• Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position in California is $70,000-$80,000k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here.
