Sign-on bonus of up to $6,000 for eligible registered nurses
The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. The expected ENTRY pay range is $34.00 - $40.65 per hour, based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require
  • CPR certification upon hire
  • Valid Arizona driver's license upon hire
  • Valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona State Board of Nursing as a compact license state
We Also Value
  • Two or more years of nursing experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Community-based or immunization nursing experience
Job Contributions
  • Collaborate with the Sexually Transmitted Infection program to ensure clients are educated, screened, and, if appropriate, immunized
  • Deliver professional and courteous customer service to all individuals
  • Screen and administer immunizations to adults in high-volume settings (up to 100 clients per day)
  • Oversee the opening and closing of clinic operations
  • Provide direction and oversight to the Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Maintain clear and accurate documentation of activities through nurse's notes, reporting forms, consent forms, and computer databases.
Working Conditions
  • Requires availability to provide oversight for the licensed practical nurse
  • Ability to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
  • Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
  • Requires frequent travel to and from various locations in Maricopa County through flexible scheduling (which may include evenings and weekends)
  • Requires following County policies regarding the use of County and private vehicles on County business
