Job Description

BAE Systems, Inc. is searching for an Identity & Access Management Developer. This is a hands-on technical role for a mid-level software developer interested in working in the field of identity & access management. The candidate will manage and develop tools and processes to extend BAE’s Enterprise Identity Management software to connect to internal and external applications and to develop workflows used to request access to these applications.
The ideal candidate will come from a background of systems administration, specializing in the last 3-5 years in Identity & Access Management. BAE will consider a career (8-10 years of experience) UNIX and/or Windows administrator, supporting LDAP, web servers, application servers and other apps running on these systems with a desire in making a change to specialize in the IAM field long-term, with the ability to learn quickly.
Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining an IAM system, working on projects to extend the IAM system to new applications. The candidate will be supporting a global program as part of an experienced team of engineers and developers and will be called on to work incident tickets and participate in on-call rotation along with the rest of the team. Strong customer service and advocacy skills are paramount in this role.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Strong ethics in the context of business and information security
  • Must be a highly effective international communicator
  • Must be able to manage IT audit compliance requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with one or more provisioning workflow solutions and have worked with directory services (LDAP)
  • Hands-on working knowledge of identity & access management technology and processes.
  • Organize and manage projects and tasks autonomously
  • Understanding of how applications use identities and entitlements to enable access to applications
  • Working knowledge of PKI, MFA/certificate management and operations
  • Working knowledge of provisioning to cloud/SaaS applications
  • Working knowledge of Java, ECMAScript (JavaScript/JScript), and XML languages
  • Working knowledge in designing and managing a holistic IAM system
  • Working knowledge of web services integration concepts using SOAP and REST.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP and operations
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues facing an organization like BAE Systems and where IAM fits into solving those challenges
  • Working knowledge of identity management/provisioning
  • Must have worked hands-on with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating platforms
  • Working knowledge of workflow development (for the purpose of manager or user self-service provisioning)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Skills
  • API access management.
  • Previous or current hands-on experience with IAM tools
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Exposure to software development in a current programming language and framework.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more Identity & Access Management vendor suites or solutions.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent work experience plus formal education may be considered.
  • Ability to run/coordinate meetings and communicate with levels of personnel from executive to hands-on technologists.
Education Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited university with courses in application development plus internship as a software developer OR 5-8 years of professional software development experience
