Job Description

The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for supporting the human resources department in establishing and maintaining an effective workforce within the organization. They will focus on recruiting top talent, managing employee relations, and maintaining HR processes and policies to support our employees and further organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Support managers in setting performance objectives and developing individual development plans
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
  • Manage the entire recruitment process including posting jobs, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating reference checks
  • Compliance and Recordkeeping
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and grievances, working to resolve issues promptly and effectively
  • Coordinate with external vendors and trainers to facilitate workshops and training sessions
  • Performance Management
  • Assist in the implementation of performance management systems, including annual performance reviews
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and maintain a positive work environment

  • Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Participate in compensation benchmarking and assist in the development of compensation strategies
  • Benefits and Compensation
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires
  • Employee Relations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, training records, and payroll data
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance
Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of local and federal HR regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred
