Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Talent Acquisition and Compensation, the Human Resources Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for creating a positive experience for applicants, candidates and hiring managers through administrative excellence. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and prioritize. This position will work closely with a wide variety of college personnel and off-campus employers. In addition, this position must be able to interpret and apply federal, state and institutional rules and regulations governing the eligibility of workers,.

Serves as the primary point of contact for Adjunct hiring, including contract support, communication to program assistants and maintaining the overall employment cycle for Adjuncts. This position is primarily customer service focused, and will assist with all facets of hiring adjunct staff, faculty, temporary, and occasionally students). The main areas of responsibility include but are not limited to full cycle recruiting administrative support, screening applicants, search committee assistance, job descriptions and postings, advertisements, offer letters, preemployment screening, data entry and onboarding.

Main Responsibilities:

  • May assist with student employment, including the community federal work study program. Establishes relationships with community partners for work study opportunities. Places qualified students in the program and monitors employment. Provides reporting assistance as needed.
  • Manages the onboarding process for new hires, ensures candidates status updates happen in a timely manner and conducts follow ups post hire. Ensures accurate personnel records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Creates and distributes Adjunct hiring newsletter and other forms of communications related to Adjunct employment.
  • Provides support for staff and temporary employment by assisting hiring manager(s) with screening applicants, serving on search committees, and providing guidance throughout the interviewing process. Ensures equitable pay rates, creates offer letters, conducts pre-employment screening and data inputs hires in Taleo and HCM. Generates and creates reports to ensure data accuracy and employment metrics.
  • Represents the Office of Human Resources and promotes employment during new hire orientations and career fairs.
  • Develops and delivers training related to employment, hiring, and use of Taleo for hiring managers, employees and applicants. Proactively develops comprehensive employment, hiring and onboarding materials for hiring managers, employees, and applicants. Implements training sessions, answers questions/concerns.
  • Identifies process efficiencies and opportunities for improving the applicant hiring manager experience. Implements policies and procedures that ensures a seamless hiring process that is consistent, fair and equitable.
  • Provides a full range of administrative support for hiring managers and serves as the main point of contact for all inquiries related to Adjunct employment involving internal and external applicants. Reviews, creates, and maintains job descriptions, postings, and advertisements. Manages the applicant flow within Taleo.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with good technology skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confidential, professional, discrete, flexibility, adaptable to change.
  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by a Master's degree in a field related to the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. The minimum education experience standards for positions classified under this class title will vary depending upon the requirements of the specific position to be filled. In each case, these minimums will be determined at the discretion of the appointing authority. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year for year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college) A Ph.D. or an Ed.D. degree may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a cross section of the campus community.
  • Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority.
