Job Description

My Business Resource was created knowing first hand the HR challenges businesses face. The creation and implementation of HR processes can be daunting. The founders of MBR recognized this and created HR solutions to help companies manage these challenges. Since the fall of 2019, My Business Resource has grown to a true consultancy, with a team of professionals focused on partnering with small business owners to remove the obstacles to growth and provide them with the expertise and tools to run their businesses more effectively.


Position Summary: The HR Generalist / Consultant is primarily focused on providing HR services to our clients. The HR Consultant is a trusted advisor who provides on- and off - site support to our clients and executes HR projects. The HR Consultant is an independent professional with strong relationship, time management, project management, and collaboration skills. A strong ability to network and build relationships is required.


Expected Timeline: We are looking to add an HR Generalist / Consultant to our team around the first of the year (01/2024) but may accelerate the timeline / process if business needs dictate. We are beginning the conversations now with candidates to be able to find the right person to fit our team, business, and clients.


Education and Experience: Experience as an individual contributor in an HR role. HR Certification preferred; Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; 3-5 years as a Human Resource Generalist (or equivalent) with several areas of specialties. Previous experience in consulting is required. Experience with multiple applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Required Certificates, Licenses & Registrations: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and background check. Professional HR Designation preferred but not required. Notary license preferred but not required.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage workers’ comp claims & maintaining OSHA recordkeeping for accidents/injuries.
  • Formulate and implement training programs, applying principles of learning and individual differences.
  • Ability to adapt and understand a "billable hours" environment.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software. Implement, manage and administer an HRIS system to track associate data (i.e. ADP HRIS)
  • Develop relationships within the HR and business community, including attending events and networking with individuals and jobseekers
  • COBRA Processing, manage unemployment claims & disability/life claims
  • Manage benefit programs, including open enrollment, renewals and terminations. Identify and implement benefits to increase the quality of life for associates, by working with brokers and researching benefits issues. Manage the design and development of tools to assist associates in benefits selection.
  • Fulfill all reporting requirements of all relevant government rules and regulations.
  • Special Projects as needed
  • 401K management, including enrollments, semi-annual fund performance reviews with investment advisor, distribution of required notices, rollover and distribution processing, and timely tax return filing.
  • Address associate relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other associate concerns.
  • Responsible for building and managing the relationship with MBR clients, collaborating with colleagues and other assigned Consultants to identify key issues and strategies
  • Introduction of process improvement ideas to HR, including organization of Human Resources hard files and electronic files.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Salary Range: $60-80K
