Lifetime Products Inc., is seeking an entry level Human Resource Generalist to join our team in Knoxville (Mascot) TN. This is a fast-paced, high growth, three shift manufacturing company.


Summary


The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the day-to-day operations of the office and HR department while performing a variety of HR related duties on a professional entry level position.


This position will work closely with the HR Manager in Utah while supporting the administration of HR policies, procedures and programs for the Mascot, TN Facility.


The qualified candidate will also work closely with the Operations Director/Plant Manager of the Mascot facility with all personnel issues, and assist in creating and maintaining a respectful culture.


The qualified candidate will coordinate all of the Human Resources functions within the facility, such as managing all phases of the personnel programs; including recruitment and selection for staffing with emphasis on leadership and technical positions, policies and procedures, wage and salary administration, employee relations, employee development, on-boarding/orientation, benefit administration, audit compliance, process improvement, and training.


This position requires a high degree of confidentiality and uses independent judgment and exercises discretion in executing their duties, while maintaining the highest level of integrity.


Must be self-motivated, proactive, organized and have excellent communication skills. Another attribute is having a good attitude regarding team work and working well with all team members.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):


  • Manage recruitment process to meet staffing needs with emphasis on leadership and technical positions; including job postings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and tracking data on recruitment metrics.
  • Assists employees with leave requests and tracks FMLA usage.
  • Responds to requests for employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Monitors the performance evaluation process. Tracks completed evaluations to ensure documentation is received by HR and assess employee/organizational training needs.
  • Completes special projects setting timetables, conducting research, developing and organizing information for project completion.
  • Partners with HR and payroll to maintain the HRIS database for timely payroll processing and updated employee information.
  • Support employee engagement and a positive employee environment through timely and conscientious responses with employees and managers on HR related inquiries.
  • Provides daily back up support as Receptionist.
  • The HR Generalist assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
  • Assists with employee communication and feedback with onsite management team and Corporate HR.
  • Assists with communicating benefits information to employees, new enrollments and terminations, qualifying events, and open enrollment preparation and processing.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and organization.
  • Assists with on-boarding and off-boarding activities such as orientation, new hire reporting, E-verify, prepares new hire packets, enters information in HRIS and other applicable systems.


Qualifications


  • Some travel may be required
  • Computer experience required and proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook and Human Resources Systems. Experience with Ulti and Kronos programs helpful.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in personnel-related activities and/or equivalent experience, education and training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be resourceful and well organized and have the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • Must have the ability to get along with diverse personalities and be able to work with all levels of management, internally and externally.
  • Must have strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Results driven and detail-oriented with consistent follow up.
  • Must have high energy level and be comfortable in performing multi-faceted projects.
