Job Description
DISTINCTION seeks to hire talented and professional employees. No matter the position in the organization, all staff are expected to model proper workplace standards and mentor youth. POSITION SUMMARY: Supports Human Resources Manager and performs a variety of administrative duties. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must have 2-3 years of Human Resources administrative experience. Minimum keyboarding skills - 55 wpm. Must possess computer skills and be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management. JOB DUTIES:
  • Participate in student employability programs and activities.
  • Produce quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
  • Act as liaison between Human Resources Manager and functional area department managers.
  • Input information into personnel system in a timely manner and ensure accuracy of all pay adjustments.
  • Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Provide quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.
  • Proofread written material for accuracy, check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
  • Respond to employment verification requests as required.
  • Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies.
  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain personnel folders to include but not limited to creating, re-establishing, auditing, and purging of files in accordance with Company and Department of Labor standards and instructions.
  • Gather materials to copy and sort into training/workshops binders.
  • Perform administrative duties to include typing, filing, dictation, receiving and routing visitors, sorting, and distributing department mail, etc. and arrange details of meetings, participants, agendas, etc.
  • Ensure benefit enrollments are completed and accurately processed within established timeframes.
  • Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Answer employee questions related to benefits, personnel policies, and other human resources matters.
  • Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.
