STATUS : Temporary full-time - (35 hours/week)
IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR : Head of RTS - DYP
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible
Functions Reception And Processing Of Reports
Person who, under the authority of the Assistant Director of Youth Protection and the persons he mandates, carries out the following activities: receive the report, proceed to a summary analysis of the report and decide if it should be retained for evaluation;
In order to do so, it carries out the following activities:
Receiving reports and requests for information, according to the protocol for receiving and processing reports and information in effect;
Processing of alerts; gathering relevant information to decide whether or not to retain the alert. If necessary: the intervener could request a field intervention, a complementary verification or decide if an emergency measure is necessary and refer the file to the concerned personnel if necessary;
Determine the degree of urgency of the intervention (code 1-2-3);
Write the report of the alert and forward it to the persons concerned;
Inform the person reporting a situation or requesting information of the non-retention of a file and refer them to other resources when necessary to ensure continuity of services.
To complete the clinical and administrative tasks related to his/her duties;The person will be required to travel to the villages of the Ungava coast and will be called upon to perform psychosocial on-call duties as well as any other related tasks as requested by his/her superior
Qualifications
Must hold a Bachelor degree in Human Sciences in : Social Work, Social Services, Criminology, Psychology or Psycho-Education;
In the absence of an HRO application that meets all the requirements of the position, a candidate with a technique in an appropriate discipline (ex.: social work, special education, delinquency intervention, etc.) may be considered. If a technician candidate is selected, the applicable salary scale will be the one that corresponds to his/her level of education.
Training in intercultural intervention or mediation an asset;
Theoretical and practical knowledge of the Youth Protection Act and the concept of protection;
Fluency in French, good knowledge of English (spoken and written); knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset
Ability to adapt to a different environment and culture;
Sensitivity to issues related to intervention in a northern context;
Knowledge and understanding of the main issues associated with the Inuit clientele according to the YPA and be committed to learning and developing skills related to this intervention in a northern context;
Knowledge and understanding of the stages, processes and benchmarks of normal child development from 0 to 18 years of age;
Knowledge and ability to apply the various approaches used with youth and their families;
Sense of analysis and synthesis and good writing skills;
Ability to adapt and manage priorities;
Ability to work in a team;
Professional, rigorous, autonomous, good listening skills and very good clinical judgment;
Must have a valid driver's license.
Conditions And Benefits
SALARY : Min.: 947.80 35 hours Max.: 1 679.30$ /35 hours
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than fifty (50) kilometers from the locality where she/he is called to perform her/his duties, will be entitled to the reimbursement of inherent expenses provided for in Regional disparities.
