Job Description


  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Promotes company’s reputation as “best place to work”
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc. Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
  • Assist Learning and Development Manager to coordinate on site development training for hourly and exempt staff.
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within scheduled time
  • Assists with coordination and the successful execution of employee events including summer picnic, long term service awards, holiday party, etc.
  • Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Supports and backs-up the Human Resource team in general duties, as needed.
  • Must follow all legal compliance and maintain confidential information
  • Will assist in supporting and demonstrating humanitarian DFS belief through engagement activities at location.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees to become fully integrated in DFS Culture
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to DFS Corporate, Division and location management


Key Requirements


  • Retail store level experience a plus
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check etc.)
  • Proven work experience as a Recruiter (either an in-house recruiter or a staffing agency recruiter)
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency-based, stress etc.)
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
