The Opportunity

Black & Veatch’s HR Systems (HRIS) team in comprised of key roles that are responsible for leading/maintaining complex system administration in collaboration with our internal clients, IT and our vendors. HRIS Administrators are responsible for implementing and maintaining HR software applications. Position includes day to day user support, environment setup and maintenance, testing and documentation, security management, reporting and on-going continuous improvement. Team holds in high regard the ability to partner with our stakeholders with a balance of consultative and technical skills.

The Team

As part of BV Business Enablement, you will be part of the critical and forward-thinking group that enables our people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible by providing creative solutions. Functions in this group include CIO/Global Information Technology, Diode, ESH&S, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for system wide and ad-hoc security permissions (security architecture, request process, audits).
  • Plays key role in the implementation of additional technology solutions and/or enhancement projects.
    • Understand business needs, distinguish between needs and wants; identify gaps between business needs and standard application functionality; design and document solutions that fill the gaps.
    • Collection and documentation new functionality requirements, system change requirements and enhancement requests.
    • Learns and configures new/modified solution setup.
    • Develop and carries out test scripts.
    • Participates in hyper-care post roll out period
  • Submits technical support tickets to vendor as needed, monitors ticket responses, validates proposed solutions and escalates to HRIS managers as needed.
  • Collection and documentation new functionality requirements, system change requirements and enhancement requests.
  • Follows HRIS testing methodologies and documentation processes.
  • Proactively identify threats/opportunities and leverage HRIS expertise to design creative business solutions which align with business strategy
  • Develop and carries out test scripts.
  • Responsible for effectively partnering with internal users by providing thorough information on issues or questions, provide visual aids and discussions in a timely manner to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Develops and maintains business process and technical solution documentation.
  • Responsible for the integration of user data with interconnected technology solutions. Includes monitoring success of data feeds and troubleshooting errors. Works with 3rd party, as needed, to modify integration schema.
  • Maintains user support intranet materials hosted on Zendesk.
  • Performs scheduled and ad-hoc reporting. Partner with advanced workforce analytics team to develop efficiencies in reporting via mediums such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Learns and configures new/modified solution setup.
  • Liaisons between HR, IT, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
  • Performs application configuration (managing users, system properties, and module specific administration, etc.).
  • Participates in hyper-care post roll out period
  • Works closely with HRIS team and acts as a backup across team members as required.
  • Lead system administrator for Talent Management/Development technologies along with Human’s Resources’ HR Support Center hosted on Zendesk.
    • Performs application configuration (managing users, system properties, and module specific administration, etc.).
    • Develops and maintains business process and technical solution documentation.

  • Works with HR Data Steward to ensure data security and privacy requirements along with application of on-going adherence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience with Saas Talent Management/Development solutions for Performance, 360 Feedback Reviews, Succession, Profile, Learning, Talent Acquisition
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the service of program owner, users and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Possess continuous improvement experience.
  • Driven problem solver with a curious mindset.
  • Strong technical skills along with attention to detail.
  • Previous system administration experience with one or more of the following: SuccessFactors SAP, Oracle HCM Cloud, Workday.
    • Recent experience with Saas Talent Management/Development solutions for Performance, 360 Feedback Reviews, Succession, Profile, Learning, Talent Acquisition
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office products; strong use on Excel for reporting.
  • Previous experience with defining requirement and testing system integrations from one solution to another.
  • Possesses sound documentation skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the business.
  • Must demonstrate exemplary customer service skills.
  • Demonstrate handling confidential Human Resources matters.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and meet tight deadlines as necessary.
  • Writes and communicates clearly and concisely.
  • Picks up on new or changing technology quickly.
