Job Description
Position Overview:
As an HR Generalist, you will be an advisor and thought partner to executives and leaders to elevate people strategies. You will provide leadership and partnership to management and associates to deliver a spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs, which are aligned with Neighborly’s goals. You will take ownership and accountability for key business departments and provide recommendations to guide decisions related to workers compensation/leave administration, associate relations/investigations, HR compliance training, performance management, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Track and regularly communicate relevant people metrics and trends to leadership (turnover/retention, engagement, etc.).
  • Assist in administering the annual performance review process and engage leadership in creating annual review objectives.
  • Maintains employment law compliance as designed by company handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with Benefits Administrator on leaves and accommodations/open enrollment
  • Process and verify all personnel changes including but not limited to compensation increases, title changes, exemption status, etc
  • Maintain a “paperless” document management system.
  • Assist Company leadership to ensure compliance with company safety policies (including OSHA, etc).
  • Prepare reports for audits as requested.
  • Coach leadership and associates on policy and procedure, conflict resolution and change management to promote fair and equitable work environment.
  • Coordinate completion of engagement surveys and/or other meaningful ways to solicit associate feedback; compile and share feedback with key leaders.
  • Conduct associate exit interviews and analyze/communicate trends to leadership.
  • Interface with others in a professional manner and be a trusted go to person.
  • Drive change through data-based insights and influence. Serve as a change champion in support of HR/Talent initiatives and functional strategy.
  • Prepare internal communication for changes to policies, procedures and global information as deemed necessary for associates.
  • Partner with leadership on matters of counseling, performance improvement and disciplinary action.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Evaluate and provide input on rewards and recognition with cross-functional partners
  • Conduct internal associate investigations; thoroughly document all communications and maintain complete records throughout the investigation process; provide comprehensive investigation outcome and provide guidance to leadership regarding outcomes.
  • Assist with event planning and preparation of associate functions upon request of leadership.
Required Attributes:
  • High computer literacy including strong experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Resilient and adapts quickly to changing factors
  • Self-starter. Ability to work autonomously with little support.
  • In depth knowledge of industry practices & standards, as well as an eye on trends and future opportunities
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with a Payroll/HRIS system (for example:Workday, ADP, Peoplesoft etc).
  • Sense of humor.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen and influence leadership
  • Strong problem-solver with the ability to handle sensitive/confidential information
  • Ability to provide technical and procedural guidance to associates in a confident and non-threatening manner.
  • Demeanor that is perceived as strategic, friendly and cooperative while maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or related field
  • 5-10 years relevant HR experience
  • PHR Designation or equivalent experience preferred
