Job Description
Summary


High-level administrative position to support on-site timekeeping, recruitment and hiring, general HR needs, and safety administration responsibilities. HR experience is a requirement, with safety exposure an added plus. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and with strong computer skills; perspective to handle confidential information and work with hourly manufacturing employees. Will report to the HR manager and work with the plant manager and maintenance/ safety director.

Duties


HR Related:


  • Conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Assists with open enrollment and benefits administration process.
  • Performs new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Assists with employee terminations.
  • Assists with daily hourly timecards and maintains attendance records.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provides daily hours worked data.
  • Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
  • Maintains employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Assists with the performance review process.
  • Conducts reference checks, background checks, and e-Verify.
  • Assists HR Manager with site-specific projects.
  • Documents employee relation issues and consults with HR Manager.
  • Assists Corporate Recruiter with recruiting and interview process.


Safety Related


  • Assists Management with any safety-related administrative support or projects as needed.
  • Maintains employer-sponsored PPE logs for employee reimbursement and ensures PPE meets specified requirements.
  • Maintains medical surveillance records.
  • Maintains OSHA 300 logs to ensure compliance.
  • Assists with accident investigations and reporting, including documentation, write-up, and submitting information to WC carrier.
  • Maintains material safety data sheets.
  • Ensures all employees in designated areas are up to date on medical surveillance requirements.
  • Employee Training logs/ records.


Attributes Needed


  • Excellent communicator - verbal and written
  • 2-3 years of HR background, with safety exposure a plus
  • Organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills. Excellent people skills - with the ability to relate to and work with hourly plant employees
  • Problem-solving skills (this a strong element)
  • Strong computer skills - Excel and Word specific
  • Willingness to get out on the plant floor to meet employees where they are to foster relationships and learn business
