Job Description
The Sales Manager position is responsible for soliciting corporate transient and corporate group business for the hotel in order to meet and exceed revenue goals. This position requires an experienced Sales Professional who has strong verbal and written communication skills to aid in being the liaison between client and operations staff of the property. This position is perfect for someone who has at least one year of Hotel Sales experience and is looking for a new opportunity with massive future growth potential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Solicit and/or develop new and past accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. Follow up with internal calls and bookings in the required time to meet and exceed customer expectations. The sources of primary revenue: corporate transient& corporate group (national/local companies) business segments. (60%)
Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in order to produce additional transient, group and/or convention business, to include room sales, food and beverage sales, catering/banquet services.
Maintain client relationships with follow-up calls, visits, etc., finalizing details to close the business and/or contract.
Solicit account leads from corporate travel, group meeting/event planners and decision makers for cultivation and development.
Lead site inspections/tours with customers, entertain and perform outside sales calls to develop leads and maintain existing accounts.
60% of work week spent conducting outside sales calls, appointments and/or site visits of the property.
Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance. (10%)
Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. (10%)
Development of the annual sales plan and strategy to meet goals.
Managing and negotiating account details and contracts so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers. (10%)
Monitor contractual agreements pertaining to room blocks, meeting space, food and beverage and special concessions for assigned accounts.
Effectively communicate to all hotel departments the information necessary to successfully execute client needs.
Communicate and plan for operations departments’ participation in servicing accounts.
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. (5%)
Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required. (5%)
