ROADWAY DESIGN CRITERIA ADMINISTRATOR
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Lead, manage, and supervise the Central Office Roadway Design Criteria Section.  Manage Section employees by applying the principles of the Department’s Business Model in the development and implementation of an adopted Section Business Plan.  Lead the Section to achieve its goals as set forth in its annual Business Plan.  Supervise Section within the Department’s policies and procedures.  Manage personnel within Section in establishing or revising business plans and deadlines for all assignments.  Initiate personnel actions for positions within Section.  Prepare and manage budget for Section’s travel and other expenses.  Monitor assignments to ensure that scheduled deadlines are met.  Provide Section mentoring, and implementation of individual training plans.
Manage staff in planning and development of policy, rules, criteria, manuals, and guidelines for statewide uses to promote the safe and cost-effective design of roadways.   This includes development of the uniform standards and processes used in the preparation and assembly of contract plans and documents used for construction.  Manage staff in the development, coordination, and production of the FDOT Design Manual and the Florida Manual of Uniform Minimum Standards for Design, Construction and Maintenance for Streets and Highways (Florida Greenbook).
