Job Description

Position: Highway Engineer


Salary Range: $120,000 yr - $133,000 yr


Location: Remote or Miami, West Palm Beach or Orlando

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


  • Experience with CADD (including 3D) and other design tools
  • Extensive knowledge of AASHTO, State (FDOT) and Municipal (Green Book) design criteria, standards and plans preparation requirements.
  • Able to plan tasks and work independently or as part of a team to implement action items.
  • Able to evaluate problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and determine solutions.
  • Knowledge in Horizontal and Vertical Alignment, Drainage, Maintenance of Traffic, Signing and Pavement Markings and design or coordination of other disciplines such as - Signalization, Lighting, Utilities, Structures, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Tolling.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Minor, Major, Limited Access highways design. 1
  • Extensive knowledge of 3R (Milling and Resurfacing), Widening, Reconstruction and Complete Streets design.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Engineer of Record where needed.
  • Provides technical direction over a group of engineering interns and designers and/or functions as a technical specialist.
  • Effectively conduct constructability/quality control reviews to deliver quality.
  • Works closely with Senior Engineers and Managers to gain technical engineering experience.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Delivers assignments on time and demonstrates a “get things done” attitude.
  • Participates in business development efforts.
  • Coordinates technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other companies participating in a project.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically four (4+) years of post-registration experience.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
