Health Services Administrator Jobs

This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Department of Corrections.

Join our team with the Department of Corrections as a Health Services Administrator! In this position you will need to provide statewide administrative services for each Department of Corrections Institution and serve as the primary advisor on all administrative policy matters related to Incarcerated Individual health care while being compatible with Department of Correction’s institutional and Central Office operations and objectives.

This position will provide oversight of all patient care rendered to Incarcerated Individuals in the Iowa Department of Corrections. This is accomplished by 1) review of Quality Assurance and Auditing activities performed by committees, individuals and institutions, 2) review of contractual obligations of services delivered by personal services contractors, 3) review of individual patient care records when such records are deemed to need Health Services Administrator review, 4) clinical and administrative direction of Utilization Review Staff and cost containment staff, 5) periodic visits to the health services units at each Department of Corrections facility, 6) review and direction of credentialing activities within the Department of Corrections, as appropriate, 7) respond to grievances, 8) chair admission and P&T meetings.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Doctorate Degree in Medicine, completion of an internship program and licensure as a Physician by the State of Iowa and two years of professional medical experience
