The Position

Within Field Medical Affairs (FMA), this position has primary responsibility for clinical HEOR and Value Communication engagement efforts with existing medical customers who specialize in HEOR, population health decision makers in priority accounts, who are using HEOR information and analytics to drive decisions on a system level, HEOR thought leaders embedded within existing accounts, particularly Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) and National Accounts, and HEOR researchers at strategically aligned Centers of Excellence (COE)s.


Primary responsibilities of the role are:

  • Facilitating new Real World Evidence (RWE) research opportunities through HEOR Partnerships
  • Improving HEOR training and resources across Field Medical Teams
  • Enhancing Value Communication with existing medical customers
  • Bridging the gap in stakeholder engagement with HEOR Key Opinion Leaders (KOL), particularly in National Accounts and Integrated Delivery Networks


Relationships

Maintains a network of external relationships with key HEOR thought leaders, RWE Researchers, Population Health decision makers, and Data Scientists within prioritized National and Regional Payor accounts and Health Systems. Accountable for managing multiple internal relationships (mainly Market Access, Medical Operations, HEOR and Medical Affairs). Serves as a HEOR subject matter expert and primary clinical point of contact for key HEOR thought leaders and influencers in aligned accounts. Position reports to Executive Director, Medical Affairs, Managed Markets.


Essential Functions

  • Maintains a thorough/advanced and detailed working knowledge of NNI, its products, current scientific research and publications associated with HEOR and RWE
  • Attends and presents at assigned medical and scientific meetings and symposia: a) ensures and maintains thorough knowledge of the latest and current issues and new data pertaining to NNI products; b) develops, establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers; c) conveys appropriate use of NNI products and greater utilization of its services; d) Provides leadership and expertise in the field of HEOR to support internal training and external customer needs
  • Administrative Duties
    • Provides monthly reports on scientific leadership activities to Field Director including budget expenditures as directed
    • Records all activities within One Stop Shop (OSS) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures
    • Secures and maintains effective administrative management of strategic national/regional business as well as operational and educational budgets
  • Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development
    • Acts as a scientific resource for health care providers (HCPs) and other NNI employees, as required
    • Attends and presents at assigned medical and scientific meetings and symposia: a) ensures and maintains thorough knowledge of the latest and current issues and new data pertaining to NNI products; b) develops, establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers; c) conveys appropriate use of NNI products and greater utilization of its services; d) Provides leadership and expertise in the field of HEOR to support internal training and external customer needs
    • Combines account management skills, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and develop collaborative relationships
    • Demonstrates confidence in managing and developing relationships over time with key customers
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with key HEOR influencers and decision makers and responds to inquiries to establish and/or further the knowledge of NNI products and related topics
    • Establishes the field HEOR engagement plan, in alignment with the Evidence Generation Team, through the identification and cultivation of key relationships and brings forth appropriate collaboration opportunities
    • Gathers customer insight regarding Real World Evidence for NNI and competitor’s products to help inform medical and commercial decision making

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently engage business critical MM customers and execute against challenges of a continually changing healthcare/payer landscape required
  • Work experience in health economics and outcomes research preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or RWE Research organization required ((internship or residency may count toward experience, and an advanced degree may be substituted for experience when appropriate), with at least 3 years work experience in a field health outcomes or managed care medical liaison role, or in a HEOR position
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment required
  • Advanced, in-depth understanding of US healthcare system, payers, reimbursement method, integrated health systems and utilization of RWE and data analytics therein
  • Demonstrated flexibility in technical expertise across disease areas preferred
  • A thorough understanding of population health, HEOR, data analytics and decision-making process across various account channels required
  • A strong knowledge of clinical development/operations, research conduct, and working knowledge of FDA requirements required A strong knowledge of health economics and demonstrated ability to conduct value-based discussions with key HEOR and population health customers required
  • Doctoral degree (e.g. PharmD, MD, PhD) or MSc with advanced professional training in HEOR/RWE required
  • Expert technical knowledge in HEOR and ability to develop expertise across multiple disease areas
  • Knowledge of information/technology systems preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) preferred
  • Work experience in a Managed Markets setting preferred
  • Experience in HEOR account engagement and RWE project management preferred
  • Experience in engaging HEOR experts, conducting RWE research, and utilizing modern rapid-cycle data analytic platforms strongly required
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, strategic influencing, initiative ability, project management, internal and external relationship development, analytical/problem solving skills, and written/verbal communication skills required


Compensation:

The base compensation range for this position is $148,290 to $259,510.
Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Incentive Plan. The role may also be eligible for a long-term incentive bonus depending on level and other Company factors. The position is eligible for a company car through the Company’s FLEET program.
