The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.52 to $39.18 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

- Performs other reasonably related HIM duties as assigned by HIM leadership.
- Responsible for chart creation, maintenance, and breakdown for all Fred Hutch Clinics, on paper and in electronic formats.
- Supports HIM processes as assigned in the areas of:
- Collects patient records from clinics and brings to HIM for inclusion in patient charts.
- Assists with cross coverage in the HIM department by training others and learning new tasks.
- Printing and distribution of transcription.
- Participating in any and all aspects of scanning.
- Meets productivity standards as determined by HIM leadership.
- Responds to requests for charts and patient information from providers, clinics, and facilities as needed and in accordance with HIM policies, Federal and Washington State laws.
- Demonstrates proficiency with computer data entry skills.
- Highly organized and detailed oriented with ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Minimum one year in healthcare environment.
- Associate of Arts Degree in Health Information Management or complimentary field of study; or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well (in both verbal and written formats) with patients, staff, and providers
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment based upon departmental policies and procedures.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite applications, ORCA, Epic, Mindscape, and scanning software.
- Ability to interact with many types of internal and external customers in a flexible, accommodating manner.
- Knowledge of health information management operations and HIPAA guidelines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or equivalent work experience.
- RHIT/RHIA certification
