Job Description

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. This is a hybrid remote position for individuals living in Wisconsin or Illinois.

We are seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Operational Supervisor to:

  • Participate in enterprise-wide committees such as Legal Medical Record (LMR) and Medical Record Committee.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate departmental and organization information.
  • Be responsible for efficient and effective workflows, quality assurance, training, performance management, and continuing education activities.
  • Function as an expert Enterprise Release of Information resource and remain informed regarding new technology, Processes and Federal/State policy changes.
  • Provide supervision of day-to-day Enterprise Release of Information operations and oversight of all department activities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that policies and procedures remain current and ensure that all staff are aware of changes.

Education :

Minimum – Associate degree in healthcare-related field. Two (2) years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree in addition to the experience below

Preferred – Associate degree or college level study leading to a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification by the American Health Information Management Association

Work Experience :

Minimum – Two (2) years of healthcare with progressively responsible experience managing or leading documentation services in a hospital and clinical environment

Preferred –

  • Experience in a teaching/research facility is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the use of speech recognition products is strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications :

Preferred –RHIA or RHIT
