Data Analysis:

  • Knowledge of electronic birth certificate programs with the ability to maintain operation and retrieve data; preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of PC (personal computer) experience; required
  • Validates, retrieves, and transfers reports in the Fusion Transcription System and SRM Discrepancy queue to produce an accurate legal medical record
  • High School Diploma, required; Associates Degree in Health Information Management or related field, preferred
  • Accurately and efficiently audit/ analyze Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for deficiencies to ensure adherence to policies/procedures/regulations Education/Training
  • Prepares, scans, and checks medical records for accuracy and quality (as needed) Regulation:
  • Maximum of 6 months of on-the-job training provided Excellent interpersonal skills; required
  • Assists physician with the completion of accurate medical records Customer Service:
  • Efficiently provides medical information/documentation as requested
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; preferred
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (i.e. telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.); required
  • Knowledge of applicable policies/procedures/guidelines/regulations/laws (i.e. HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); required
  • Working knowledge of various EMR systems; required
  • Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues Job Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical Records or Medical Office experience ; preferred
  • Responds efficiently and effectively to customer service issues that may arise while performing duties independently of other co-workers (i.e. weekend duties) Reporting/Recordkeeping:
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills; required
  • Educates/trains Physicians on the Fusion Dictation System and Sunrise Records Manager (SRM) chart completion
