Job Description

Head of Studio, CPT Gaming

Cherry Pick Talent is one of the world’s leading creator relations agencies, sourcing influencer talent from across the world to deliver kick-ass executions for clients as varied as LEGO, Epic Games, Armani, NARS and Adidas.

As Cherry Pick has continued to expand, we’re adding a second string to our bow by establishing CPT Gaming - a new division focused on working with a new type of creator: metaverse builders on platforms like Fortnite and Roblox. CPT Gaming’s mission is to partner with the best of these creators to deliver awesome branded experiences that engage users and delight commercial partners. We envisage CPT Gaming working hand in glove with our existing influencer business and will launch the division in strategic partnership with some of the world’s leading games companies.

CPTG will provide an end-to-end in-house process where we are able to guarantee deliverables and have firm control over the costs and management of the delivery of a gaming campaign.

What You'll Do

We’re seeking an experienced production leader to act as Head of Studio for CPT Gaming. In this role, you’ll spend your time managing a team of Games Production Specialists and helping brands succeed in entering the metaverse. You’ll create the infrastructure needed for brands to successfully discover gaming as a new means of engagement.

You’ll be directly responsible for ensuring that CPTG’s projects are delivered smoothly, meet the objectives of our partners, and deliver financial results. You’ll also work closely with CPT management to oversee the set-up of the new division, ensure it’s well administered, and build excellent relationships with our core clients.

In this role, you will

  • Be the main escalation point for fires, blockers, and issues within the production process (overseeing high-level campaign execution, stepping in to troubleshoot particularly difficult campaigns, etc.).
  • Build confidence in the Gaming team by ensuring high standards of delivery across all campaigns and establishing strong production processes.
  • Establish & implement tools and processes for the CPTG Production team: create workflows & synergies within our team and connect with partners and builders.
  • Act as ‘air traffic control’ for executions: maintain consistency in matching incoming projects to available resources, ensure that we're striking the right balance between delivery & creative excellence, etc.
  • Work with CPT management to administer the CPTG unit, overseeing recruitment, billing and day-to-day business operations.
  • Manage the team of in-house producers (ie: Games Production Specialists) and external game production contractors. This involves running team ceremonies to ensure that projects are on track, having 1:1s with team members, and coaching for performance.
  • Keep abreast, and proactively research, market trends & platform news around the wider gaming ecosystem, the metaverse, and influencer activations within the space, to guide and inform processes and activations for partners.
  • Liaise with the wider CPT family to seek out opportunities to elevate our offerings across the board - marrying the award-winning campaign management and execution within CPT and the emerging possibilities within the CPTG remit.
  • Be accountable for the relationship with our core clients and ensure CPTG seamlessly integrates into their operations.
  • Sensitivity to a brand's wider marketing activity and collaborating with gaming developers to maintain their identity within the gaming experience.
  • Establish new relationships with (and maintain existing relationships with) external builders and developers.

What we're looking for

  • Comfortable working across timezones (UK/US.)
  • Collaborative, calm under pressure, approachable, and a keen problem-solver.
  • Approach challenges with curiosity and creativity, embracing the possibility of failure as an opportunity to learn something new.
  • Experience being a people manager, empowering and inspiring your team.
  • A verve and excitement for the work you do.
  • Proven track record in creating seamless and efficient processes with continuous iterations/optimisations.
  • 7+ years experience working in Games Production, within a senior role.
  • Proficiency with G-suite (including docs, sheets & slides.)
  • Excellent people skills with a talent for building strong relationships
  • Takes ownership to maintain and promote high standardsand embrace a growth mindset in an effort to continuously improve this excitingnew team and area of the business.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Stakeholder management (ideal candidate has relevant experience working with brands / IP holders / external studios, etc.)
  • Ability to monitor several simultaneous projects, with an eagle eye for assessing risk/importance and prioritizing accordingly
