Re:Car, a subsidiary of Re:Build Manufacturing, is a new company that is exploring development in the electric vehicle space.
Who We Are Looking For
The Head of Service Operations leads the development and implementation of our service strategy as well as develop appropriate external relationships to realize the Re:Car commercial vision. This role reports to the Head of Commercial and ideally would be based in proximity to the Midwest, USA.
What You Get To Do
Focusing initially on the strategy and key business processes, own leadership of the development of service strategy, operational policies, and associated infrastructure and partner development. You will develop innovative ways to approach service to support a direct to consumer and lean operating model, keeping in line with state vehicle distribution laws. This includes meaningful collaboration with internal teammates both on the Commercial team and beyond. Critical requirements initially include the preliminary service bill of material, aftersales and service operating model, and the required investment to implement. Follow-on responsibilities include implementing the plan that includes identifying 3rd party service partners, building out the service network including mobile and collision repair, implementing the processes and systems for warranty, technical and tactical support, service bill of materials, service procedures, technical publications ongoing training of technicians and accessory installers, parts supply, service operations, regulatory & compliance relationship, and customer experience management.
This Director level candidate will ultimately have responsibility for a team of direct line Sr. Managers, Managers, and/or Leads, likely distributed geographically and will evolve the organization appropriately to match the evolution of the company.

What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technical field required or graduate from an automotive vocational school; or equivalent related experience
- Experience with third party service provider (including collision repair) evaluation and selection; including RFI, RFQ and agreements.
- A creative problem solver that devises creative solutions to complicated problems. Experience in Lean methodologies including problem solving, process mapping and use of leading metrics.
- Strong intuition for business working in growing organizations and standard processes. Practical experience leading distributed teams of direct employees and indirect partners.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of the Electric Vehicle ecosystem
- Willingness to travel across North America (HQ in greater Detroit)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or CAD models
- Ten (10) plus+ years with an OEM in the Automotive or Powersports industry
- Great teammate; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with cross-functional teams. Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and desire to grow a new business in a start-up environment.
- Previous experience with ERP systems including creating and documenting workflows is helpful
- Experience managing forecasts and budgets.
