Head Of Quality Assurance Department

Crafco, Inc. has an opening for a Quality Assurance Manager at our facility in Chandler, AZ.

The Quality Assurance Manager takes the lead in maintaining all quality control standards and systems for the materials section of the company. This position is responsible for Quality Management Systems, quality metrics, developing and implementing new quality control programs as needed, for ensuring that quality control results and tracked for compliance, ensuring procedures are being followed and ensuring QC personnel at facilities are properly trained. Other oversight functions include: managing a calibration schedule, keeping the QA manual up to date, technical documentation certifications, oversight and supervision of the materials lab, maintaining the quality control system, recording production quality metrics and proper certification and training.

Specific Duties

• Track and compare agency results, QC trends and report at meetings
• Knowledge on how to run all QC tests for sealant, roofing, silicone and patching materials
• Maintain quality standards/metrics & tracking set by the Crafco Quality Management System
• Stay abreast of current quality programs and innovations
• Maintain third party inspection oversight and reporting results of the audits
• Keep QA manual current with documentation for accurate QC records
• Update and develop Quality Assurance systems and procedures as needed
• Communicate QA Plans with agencies
• Oversee product approvals with agencies/auditing processes and communicate with Engineers on QC trends
• Manage Chandler Lab Supervisor
• Maintain appropriate records and files of data, instructions, and procedures in Quality Control Management System
• Provide training to Quality Control personnel at production facilities
• Cooperation with other employees in the department and the company regarding performance of assigned duties and other company activities
• Ensure laboratories have proper test equipment and calibrations are maintained
• Manage external Crafco Technical Product documents (PDS, Installation Instructions, SDS), Certificates of Compliance

Qualifications And Experience

• Working knowledge of email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
• Ability for up to approximately 25% travel when needed
• Must have a clean driving record and valid US Drivers license
• Lean, Continuous Improvement and/or six sigma experience
• Knowledge of basic statistics and control charts
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• BS degree in a technical or management field
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience in Quality Assurance, quality certifications a plus
