About the Role

As the Head of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in our growing services company into a software company. Your role will encompass a broad range of responsibilities, from leading a team of contractors and employees in the operations team, shaping the financial strategy, and making key departmental decisions, to managing employee lifecycle and directing crucial HR functions. You'll ensure the smooth running of our internal operations, keeping our systems updated, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This is an exciting and challenging role that calls for a dynamic, people-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to shape and grow our business.

You will be responsible for…

  1. Lead, manage, and hold accountable our Operations Department, ensuring a high level of performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  2. Collaborate with the other departments on cross-functional initiatives & implementation of company-wide operations.
  3. Develop and implement a robust financial strategy, keeping the company’s financial health and growth in focus.
  4. Oversee departmental decision-making, ensuring alignment with company objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  5. Implement efficient training systems to enhance employee skills and productivity.
  6. Manage the internal skillshare initiative as part of the broader role in fostering an environment of continual learning and development.
  7. Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, ensuring an engaging and inclusive environment.
  8. Maintain and update our EOS system, keeping all processes streamlined and efficient.
  9. Oversee HR functions, staying up-to-date with labor laws, ensuring compliance, and managing the creation and implementation of company policies.


Technical Skills

  • Proven experience with financial planning and strategy.
  • Experience in project management, with an ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of training systems and LMS implementation.
  • Proficiency in using EOS system or similar business management tools.


Human Skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, with a strong focus on empathy and understanding the needs of employees.

Expected Experience

  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and relationships.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in basic HR functions, particularly in the creation and management of company policies.
  • Implemented or been involved in an organization that runs off of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus.
  • Track record in financial planning and strategy, preferably within a growing company.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an operations role, preferably in a services or technology industry.

  • NOTE: must be available quarterly for up to 3 days for a Leadership Off-Site (all expenses paid by company). The next one is June 28-July 1 and you would be expected to attend.

  • Availability: approximately 40 hours/week, US time zones

  • Salary: $100,000/year, paid monthly
