The Opportunity
As the Head of Manufacturing and Supply Chain, you will oversee the end-to-end operations, supply chain and customer satisfaction. This critical role includes direct management of design, contract manufacturing, suppliers, fulfillment, and quality control processes. Additionally, you will lead remediation/improvement initiatives across the organization, handle external customer and regulatory audits, and spearhead efforts related to your areas of responsibility. This role will work in close collaboration and communication with cross-functional leaders to maintain the highest level of product and process compliance, ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, safe and effective products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Product Manufacturing: Oversee manufacturing, engineering, facilities, supply chain operations and fulfillment to achieve strategic growth objectives.
2.Product Strategy: Collaborate with commercial team to establish short- and long-term product strategies, aligning with business goals, consumer insights, customer feedback, partner input, and market opportunities to maintain industry leadership and customer satisfaction.
3.Data-driven Decision-making: Identify critical assumptions in product strategy and employ a data-driven approach to validate these assumptions, maximizing the likelihood of success.
4.Requirements Management: Coordinate new product delivery with engineering and commercial team through clearly defined user requirements while managing the scope of each release cycle.
5.Prioritization: Regularly reassess and reprioritize the strategy and work items to accommodate changing business and client needs and timelines.
6.Communication: Develop and maintain comprehensive product briefs and presentations to ensure accurate external communication of functionality, business value, and use cases, including ongoing product education for sales and partners.
7.Investigation & Discovery: Partner with leadership team to understand and enhance customer experiences with our current products.
8.P&L Accountability: Manage the financial impact of product cost, including development costs and time, market share, margin, profit, revenue, and projected ROI. Employ a continuous low-cost mindset.
9.Innovation: Explore and develop innovative ideas for future product features to maximize revenue and maintain industry leadership in innovation.
10.QMS Compliance: Assure compliance with QMS and FDA regulatory requirements in areas of assigned responsibilities. (design transfer, supplier quality management, production, process controls, process validations, equipment controls, facility controls, and inspection/test - QC)
Qualifications
1.Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain, marketing, business or related field
2.10+ years of experience in proven experience managing a manufacturing facility, 3rd party contract manufacturers, other vendors and execute supply chain processes.
3.10+ years of experience for medical device and/or regulated manufacturing with a demonstrated ability to apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and meet FDA and State regulations and ISO requirements at a multi-departmental level within a medium sized organization.
4.High comfort with working in a fast-paced, high accountability environment, communicating properly with team members and setting proper expectations
5.Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics effect on operations (medical device and IVF experience, a plus)
6.Results-oriented with proven ability to develop and execute strategic programs and supporting tactics
7.Inquisitive, able to ask appropriate questions to break down complex problems and understand root causes
8.Comfortable with and willingness to learn relevanttechnology concepts and terms
9.Analytical mindset and experience applying data and metrics to back up assumptions, assertions, and business cases
10.Superior project management skills, ability to multi-task and work on tight timelines
