Vice President, Procurement And Supply Chain

Trinity Industries has a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in the pivotal role as the VP of Procurement and Supply Chain located in our Dallas, TX Headquarters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all sourcing and direct/indirect procurement practices and activities across the enterprise. Your focus will be EBITDA and YoY EBITDA growth, supplier/risk management, value creation, and efficiency. Additionally your expertise to think strategically for the future will create and drive cost reductive practices and process. This role will serve as the main point of contact between manufacturing suppliers and the business ensuring best in class sourcing and sustainable procurement initiatives throughout the organization.

What you'll do:

• Continuously identify efficiencies and best practices to drive cost reduction by optimizing practices and processes (e.g. tendering, contract management, spend analytics, supplier negotiations)
• Develop company procurement strategies and practices (direct and indirect) and ensure policies reflect Trinity’s enterprise strategy
• Ensure materials and components are identified and delivered to appropriate location on the prescribed timeline for the Order to Delivery process
• Manage suppliers and monitor performance to ensure contractual obligations are met
• Lead a professional team of 150 in the US and MX
• Support the matrix organization with cross functional responsibilities and work closely with Engineering, Marketing & Sales, Estimating and Finance
• Oversee the procurement of materials and goods for use of the business by identifying supplier sources, screening suppliers, and negotiating favorable terms.

What you'll need:

• A collaborative drive with experience building networks and assimilating across an organization at all levels and functions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of personal integrity
• Public Procurement Certification (or similar certification) preferred
• Minimum of 10 years’ previous experience as senior leader in procurement
• Bachelor’s Degree required, graduate degree preferred
• The ability to develop, adapt and execute departmental strategy to achieve key business objective
