Hardware Repair Technician Jobs

This role will be responsible for the execution of diagnostics and repairs in alignment with manufacturer expectation of quality and efficiency. You will focus on meeting repair goals within the first 90-days of employment.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs that meet the minimum requirements of the Manufacturer’s key performance metrics
• Ability to help teammates troubleshoot and diagnose problems
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and manager
• Ability to speak with vendors through provided portals for support and troubleshooting
• Maintain part storage for repairs in process, and place orders for parts as needed
• Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume repairs
• Keep track of devices and parts inventory while performing repairs
• Review and diagnose customers’ reported symptoms to determine details of equipment problems
• Learns and uses new processes and procedures as required for repair process
• Reinstall operating systems, or adjust software settings to resolve equipment issues
• Learn to repair devices across Apple and PC ecosystems
• Run tests using Apple Service Toolkit, Lenovo HW Diagnostic, HP HW Diagnostic
• Accurately complete service tracking documentation in NetSuite and GSX
• Reads and researches specifications, using Service Guides to determine machine settings
• Analyzes equipment performance to assess equipment functionality
• Resolve issues requiring communication with Manufacturer’s internal service team
• Earn and keep current on certifications for Apple, Lenovo, HP, Dell, and more
• Repair laptops, desktops, tablets, and/or phones to Manufacturer requirements, using hand or power tools and measuring devices

Qualifications:

• Understands and excels working within deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, or the Google Suite
• Reliable and maintains regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to perform an average of 8-10 repairs per day
• Comfortable with written and verbal communication
• 2+ Years experience performing Laptop, desktop, tablet, and/or iPhone repairs
• Committed to staying current on technology and procedures
• A minimum of one of the following certifications: Comp TIA A +(nice to have), ACMT, ACiT, Lenovo, HP, Dell, Toshiba
• Positive attitude and contributes to the entire service department through the flexibility and willingness to jump in where needed
