Hardware Engineer Jobs

Hardware Engineers will work with a design team on upgrading obsolete test equipment. This includes working on electrical design drawings, researching technical specifications, and developing modern hardware solutions for critical test infrastructure. Candidates must have an active DOE-L or DOD Secret clearance.

Other work tasks include performing assembly and fabrication inspections, participating in production meetings, developing and reviewing cost estimates, performing hardware integration evaluations, and interfacing with electrical lab coordinators, engineering technicians, and vendors. Team members perform a mix of hands-on work in a laboratory environment where products are designed, prototyped, and tested as well as office-based work to design and author documentation.

Skill Requirements:

1.BS degree in Electrical or Computer engineering or science from an accredited institution and four years of relevant experience; or MS degree in engineering or science from an accredited institution and two years of relevant experience.

2.Engineering experience with electrical hardware design, programmable logic, analog or digital circuit design, testing electronics or software, or integrating embedded systems.

3.Proficiency in Electrical Schematics Development using AutoCad.

4.Electrical Hardware Design and Integration experience.

5.Working knowledge of electronics lab practices, construction & debugging of digital & analog circuits using common lab tools and instruments (meters, scopes, analyzers).

6.Experience with National Instruments PXI Hardware.

7.Knowledge of computer programming languages and applications to develop, test, and troubleshoot test equipment.

8.Ability to work in fast paced, highly collaborative, and innovative work environment.

9.A person who can clearly and concisely articulate complex technical ideas.

Must have an active DOE-L or DOD Secret clearance
