This Graphic Design Tech will be responsible for:
- Generating miscellaneous items such as name and equipment tags, posters and directories as requested.
- Maintaining neatness and safety of work area. Cleans and maintains tools and equipment in working condition, reporting items in need of repair or replacement to Group Leader/Supervisor. Returns materials/equipment to designated storage locations.
- Designing, installing, repairing and maintaining hospital signage and graphics according to established standards and specifications. Prepares items by manually measuring, cutting, printing and/or stenciling materials or by utilizing a variety of computer graphics packages. Installs and/or secures in designated location(s) using small hand and power tools, adhesives and other related materials.
- Responding to routine and emergency service requests via on line work order, radio dispatch or as assigned by Group Leader/Supervisor. Planing assigned work by examining work site and project specifications, selecting and obtaining needed equipment and materials and determining the appropriate sequence of tasks.
- Maintaining technical knowledge and skills through attendance at inservice and continuing education programs and participation in other related activities.
- Maintaining communication with other engineering department personnel in order to plan and coordinate work assignments and describe and refer problems/issues outside scope of authority/trade. Communicates with customer departments as needed to clarify job specifications and minimize any disruption of department services/operations.
- Completing, files and/or routes a variety of logs and records required to document work performed and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements. Accesses hospital and/or departmental computer systems in order to process and forward work orders, receive, prepare and respond to routine electronic correspondence and perform other related functions.
In order to qualify, you must have:
- Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles. Knowledge of building codes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Work requires a high school level of educational development and up to one year of basic technical training and one to two years’ experience. Three to four years of facilities experience preferred.
- Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees. More sensitive situations may be referred to others as appropriate.
