JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Provide technical leadership and expertise to cross functional team including Procurement, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D professionals to evaluate risk with material suppliers and identify opportunities to reduce that risk. Responsible for providing technical advice and leadership for evaluating and managing risk associated with material suppliers, conducting process development and improvement for new supplier qualification, and helping those working in the engineering processes and directing them relating to supplier risk mitigation efforts. Oversees and manages technical requirements for supply risk mitigation project such as new supplier and material identification and qualification as part of cross functional global team.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Supplier Risk Evaluation
- Work with and coordinate with various cross functional stakeholders to evaluate and improve Viega process for qualifying new suppliers and materials.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to cross functional team including Procurement, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D professionals to evaluate risk with incumbent material suppliers and identify opportunities to reduce that risk.
- Review schematics and answer questions relating to drawings and specifications as it relates to supply risk; provide recommendations for specification and design changes to address supply risk.
- Work and coordinate with Germany on the development and maintenance of process to evaluate supply risk during new product development.
Operational Support
- Provide engineering support for cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Manufacturing, Quality and Purchasing.
- Assist reliability team with field failures.
- Provide in the field assistance to Sales team as needed.
- Implementing project; ensure product installation is performed according to project plans, codes, and specifications.
- Maintain up-to-date and complete project files.
- Provide technical support to cross functional teams, including Product Management, Sales and Reliability as needed.
- Coordinate technical activities of assigned projects including project planning, scheduling and implementation of project plans; oversee and direct engineers, designers, and other sub-contractors.
- Oversee and manage technical requirements for supply risk mitigation project such as new supplier and material identification and qualification.
Reporting
- Prepares and maintains project reports and status updates.
Other
- Will be required to travel up to 30-50% of the time.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Adobe Professional, SAP, CATIA, Smart Team Software

- Technical writing analytical skills
Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- 5-10 years of engineering/technician experience
- BS in Engineering AND
AND
- 2-5 years of leadership / project management experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
