Job Description
We are in a period of unprecedented growth. We are seeking a talented, experienced GIS Specialist who will be responsible for project setup, collaboration, design, and execution of engineering projects with the utilization of ArcGIS products.

This position requires a self-driven, motivated individual willing to collaborate and work within a team atmosphere to help streamline and incorporate data-driven processes with our Intelli-Fiber platform. This is a key role important to our OSP Engineering Services in helping to ensure client satisfaction with new innovative field engineering features.
This individual will have experience in ArcGIS with generating, modifying, updating, and maintaining spatial data and providing GIS support. The ideal candidate will have a background of working in a team environment that is willing to contribute thoughts and ideas and give support to others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trains other employees as needed; maintains knowledge and skills on current ESRI products and their relationship to the mapping program.
  • Generate, analyze, modify, update, and maintain spatial data for the organization at all locations.
  • Communicate with project managers and field personnel to produce accurate and effective report deliverables in accordance with deadlines.
  • Provide mapping, reports, analysis, data, products, database development, and Geographic Information System GIS data organization.
  • Updating and maintaining computer-generated data, mapping systems, and a project database regularly to ensure the information's accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Responsible for performing skilled digital mapping involving the preparation and maintenance of digital maps and providing Geographic Information System (GIS) support.
  • Work cooperatively with staff and other resources to develop map content.
  • Continuous improvement of job-related tasks and processes, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Exchange content ideas for new maps and provide critique to peers. Promote a team-based approach to map-making.
  • Incorporate electronic information from databases, mapping systems, and telemetry systems into working documents, maps, and control systems
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor.
  • Stay informed and trained on the latest technologies for interactive map and graphics development.
  • Identify publicly available datasets at the municipal, county, state, and federal levels.
  • Automation of GIS processes experience is a plus

Qualifications

  • Follow directions as outlined by manager.
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field preferred
  • Experience in the Telecommunications industry a plus
  • Collaborative teamwork experience
  • Hard working and self-driven
  • Written and oral communications skills (including presentations), as well as listening and interpretation skills
  • Able to meet goals and deadlines
  • 2+ years of experience with ArcGIS
  • Interest or experience in other tools and technologies
