Gis Internship Jobs

Essential Job Functions:
Record drawing management/digitization:
Ensure files are properly digitized and organized.
Prepare shapefiles of record drawing areas with accurate reference to digital files.
Check existing shapefile references for accuracy.
Collect field data using global position system (GPS) equipment, imagery, and other methods.
Support of the update and maintenance of departmental GIS data sets under GIS Coordinator supervision.
Assist GIS Coordinator in other special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications - Desired Minimum Requirements/Capabilities:
Currently possess a valid driver"s license.
Be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Currently enrolled in a local college and taking GIS courses.
Entry-level understanding of GIS capabilities and functionality.
Not be a relative of the mayor, any council member, the city manager, the BLW general manager, any BLW board member, any civil service board member, or any staff member of the human resources department. In addition, relatives of city employees shall not be assigned an internship if such arrangement will result in one relative supervising another relative, or where one relative occupies a position which has an influence over the other relative's internship position.
