Job Description
Basic Job Function:Leads the efforts of the Food and Beverage operation for the appropriate departments and provides vision, direction and leadership in planning, communicating, administering and financially controlling the overall operations of Tavola and other Cloister outlets. Execute strategic plans for raising the level of service and profitability of the Cloister Food and Beverage operations and development of the new projects within the Cloister. Uphold and assure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures. Use of a Company Vehicle: Not designated to drive a company vehicle Minimum Requirements: Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a food and beverage leadership role at a comparable 4 or 5 star hotel or resort, restaurant or catering facilityIn depth Knowledge of Forbes 5 Star StandardsExperience in a high volume (4+ million annual revenue) upscale restaurant preferredExperience Delivering service standards to various levels of staffPossess strong food and beverage service training and product knowledgeStrong wine and beverage backgroundBachelor’s degree preferredExcellent Communication skills, both written and verbalValid Georgia Driver’s LicenseProficient in Windows XP and Microsoft Office software application such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust have patience and the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in changing situationsMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environmentMust have ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situationsConsistently aspires to fulfill our core Company Values: Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty, and TrustExhibits Sea Island Five-Star Behavior standards with guests, members, and co-workersMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers deficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to Manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesIf applicable, must be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Tasks/Responsibilities: Directly supervise the Front of House outlet operations and leadership teams of the appropriate departmentsContributes to marking efforts for the Cloister with regards to member’s programs and special functions and ensuring all employees are Forbes CompliantComplies with operating and capital budgets and financial plansContinually monitors performance in relationship to financial goalsReviews and develops pricing policiesGuides, Coaches, Counsels, Develops and Inspires direct reports in a leadership role which promotes teamwork and maximum productivityWorks closely with Human Resources Training Department to monitor the Food and Beverage managers with interact programsInterview, hire , train, discipline, and coordinate terminations when necessary for all Cloister food and beverage employeesPlans professional growth and development of subordinates, including the implementation of cross-trainingPlan program of continuing professional education annuallyMaintains working relationships with other departments, promoting communication and cooperationSupervises any employees, regardless of department, working in dining and beverage service areas, including culinaryReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform and following company Dress Code policyAnswer any questions quests may have about Sea Island or the area to the best of one’s ability Directly supervise outlet leadership for River Bar and TavolaFiscally responsible for labor controls and food and beverage related expenses Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingReport all equipment problems and maintenance issuesAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsMust have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsMaintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
