Position Title: Full-Time Assistant Men’s Ice Hockey Coach
Reporting To: Head Men’s Ice Hockey Coach

Job Overview:
The Assistant Coach for each varsity program works with the Head Coach to coordinate the day-to-day operation of each athletic program at Albertus Magnus College. The Assistant Coach will work under the supervision of the Head Coach to meet the goals for each program during every academic year. The Assistant Coach also must provide positive mentorship to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Involved with all components of the team for which he or she is hired as assigned by the Head Coach. This includes but is not limited to, Day to Day Coaching, Building the Learn to Skate program, Equipment management, and Video Coordination.
- Develops a work schedule, as well as expectations with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
- Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.
- Works within the recruiting plan for the men’s ice hockey program as assigned by the Head Coach.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Head Coach.
Qualifications:
- A basic understanding of NCAA Division III rules and regulations regarding the recruitment of student-athletes and participation in intercollegiate athletics is required.
- 1-3 years of experience as a coach preferred, preferably at the college level.
- A background of success as either a participant or coach in the sport.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
- 12-month, full-time position.
- Evening and some weekend hours are required.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
