CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The purpose of this position is to provide technical operations support and analysis for the Fulfillment Program Manager who leads The Americas Group (TAG) Drawdown Fulfillment Center program within the Color Operations business unit.
- Lead analysis of site operations for opportunities to improve operational efficiency
- Test software changes and provide feedback for any software program used by site teams
- Work with IT to prioritize the IT work for requested changes to systems, software, etc. with support of the Fulfillment Program Manager
- Partner with subject matter experts to identify and source materials and/or equipment for changes to systems, tools, and/or processes
- Present solutions and recommendations for changes for approval to implement
- Work with Fulfillment Center Supervisors and Shift Leads, Fulfillment to understand pain point in daily site lab and production operations
- Work with Fulfillment Program Manager to identify and prioritize continuous improvement projects and resources to effect change on systems, tools, and/or process to drive efficiency and quality
- Cross Site Quality and Training
- Train or retrain site employees as requested to ensure consistency of product from each of the sites
- Develop new or modify existing methods or tools to ensure process/procedures are clear and concise o Compile product information (name, fill level, weights, safety, etc.) and track changes. As changes occur, update and communicate changes to the site teams
- Ensure all safety procedures and guidelines (ie. PPE, sample labeling, material handling, etc.) are documented and clear, accounting for any site-specific changes as needed by region
- Work in the lab to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practice documents for all workstation processes used at the sites (ie. Order entry, sample pulls, paint pouring, tinter calibration/operation, panel labeling, drawdown creation and bar cleaning, quality control, shipping, etc.)
- Administer tests, review results, and make recommendations on training needed for employees that will be reviewing color visually
- Site Production Data Analysis and Recommendations
- Work with Financial Analyst, Fulfillment to administer physical inventory and various inventory tasks at each site
- Work with Financial Analyst, Fulfillment to make recommendations for site daily/weekly/monthly goals for consideration by Fulfillment Program Manager
- Work with Fulfillment Center Supervisors to set min/max for their specific region of support and modify and demand changes
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, technology, or related field
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Project management experience
- Experience training or coaching others utilizing standard operating procedures, best practices, etc.
- Experience working in a lab or production environment
Preferred:
- Paint Store experience
- Six-Sigma, Lean, and/or Accelerated Root Cause Training
- Experience working with IT or IT Project Management teams to design, test, approve software program modifications
- Technical Color Experience
- Experience managing Continuous Improvement projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
- Work surfaces may include concrete.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
- Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
- May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
- May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
- Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
- Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
- Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
- May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
- Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Must be adept at conveying technical and/or business information in a manner that can be easily understood by a wide variety of end users job function and level. (i.e. Operations, Marketing, Field teams, etc.)
- Troubleshooting, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and independently .
- Ability to interpret data and information and formulate acceptable business conclusions
- Good with time management to aid in prioritization of multiple projects and/or requests
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proven problem solving and decision-making skills during projects
- Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong data analysis and summary skills
- Ability to facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items as needed
Preferred:
- Good working knowledge of how paint and colorant are blended together to develop our color palette
- Color and/or tinting skills
- Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and partner with others to further develop and implement
- Working knowledge of Paint Stores operations
