As a Senior Program Manager within Target’s Food & Beverage team, you will be responsible for managing Target’s cross-functional efforts that deliver on key F&B strategies, such as building the operational capabilities to comply with the FDA’s Food Traceability regulation. This regulation requires significant changes in how vendors & Target maintain records, including capturing key data elements as food moves throughout Target’s supply chain. You will be responsible for translating requirements into key business initiatives. This includes planning, coordinating and implementing solutions across the Enterprise to improve current processes, Technology (existing and new), and reporting that enable building new capabilities to deliver on Target’s F&B strategy.
You will manage work across multiple business, technology and product teams supporting: Supply Chain (Food Supply Chain, Global Supply Chain, Direct-Store-Delivery), Merchandising, Store Operations, Food Safety Quality & Regulatory (FSQR), and other teams to deliver on Enterprise and F&B key initiatives, such as Food Traceability. You will develop and clearly communicate program objectives with cross-enterprise partners, stakeholders, and leadership. The skills required to succeed include a blend of project management, cross-functional leadership, process design, reporting & analytics, story mapping, and ability to connect across multiple enterprise teams.
Use your skills, experiences, and talents to drive critical work for the Enterprise. As a Sr. Program Manager, you will:
- Understand and translate key business objectives and strategy of Product teams, and help communicate to the cross-functional team in partnership with the Product Managers
- Influence Product sprint planning and story mapping, by communicating goals and desired outcomes
- Establish metrics and goals for Food Traceability work, building out key metrics to monitor
- Evaluate third party solutions as well as industry and competitor strategies for traceability compliance
- Develop strong connection with partners within Tech/Product teams, FSC/GSCL Operations, Merchandising, and FSQR to ensure effective program communication
- Support development of resource/technology requirements
- Develop and implement effective program management by leading cross functional teams efforts, updating roadmaps, prioritizing data/tech discovery and related resourcing, driving key decisions and updating leadership.
- Keep up with Food & Beverage industry end-to-end supply chain trends
- Partner with Product Managers to help prioritize backlog stories.
About You:
- Skills with PM and collaborative tools: (Excel, PowerPoint, Miro, Smartsheet, and program management tools)
- Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams; knowledge of agile product management methodology
- Strong adaptability and resiliency skills. The work is dynamic and the ability to change directions seamlessly is critical.
- Strong problem solving and analytical ability. The work is complex and deep.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
- 4-year Degree or relevant experience
- Strong leadership and thought leadership (influencing) skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence others to achieve a common objective (facilitating conflicts and managing competing priorities)
Even better if:
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale process and technology efforts
- Knowledge of Target systems and processes
- Project Management Professional (PMP) experience/certification
- Experience/knowledge of Supply Chain processes and partners including Food Distribution Centers
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
