We have a vacancy for an experienced Fleet Supervisor to organize teams engaged in vehicle fleet management activities and programs. Not limited to the following, the ideal candidate:

• Produces and/or participates in the development of work activities reports, processes, procedures, performance indicators and targets, metrics, customer service survey, purchases, expenditures control efforts, instructions, learning materials and schedules; responds to emergency situations, inquiries and resolves complaints; keeps current on industry and regulatory trends; operates vehicles to; operates vehicles to travel to work sites; performs other duties as assigned.
• Develops and fosters collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of goals; promotes professional development; advocates and takes action for diversity, inclusion and productive work environment.
• Develops, implements goals and objectives of fleet management programs; ensures objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner; supervises the overall effectiveness of programs and accomplishment within budgetary parameters; ensures the compliance of assigned areas with mandates; effectively communicates policies, procedures and priorities; ensures delivery of high-level customer service.
• Oversees daily operations of vehicle fleet management activities; plans, inspects and supervises individual and/or teams including responsibility for administration, acquisition, maintenance, and management of all vehicles, equipment, vehicle and preventive maintenance related services.
• Supervises safety programs; coordinates vehicle accident claims and repairs and vehicle safety audits; ensures renewal of AOA vehicle permits; researches and promotes green vehicle fleet initiatives to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; expands the use of greener equipment technologies; creates green vehicle selection standards and encourages migration of vehicles, tools and equipment with eco-friendly and sustainable practices and designs.
• Forges partnerships with internal and external stakeholders on facilities management programs; develops strategies and establishes guidelines for work plans in assigned areas.
• Recommends and implements procedures to further programs; ensures maintenance and completes transaction requests for vehicles capital programs including ARF fire fighting vehicles and equipment; initiates and/or processes vehicle and equipment replacement, acquisition, assignment, operation, repair, preventive maintenance and fueling; develops and supervises vehicle preventive maintenance and repair programs including, , heavy equipment and other special equipment; evaluates fleet and equipment condition.
• Contributes to the selection of employees and training of assigned teams; assigns work, performance requirements and personal development targets; fosters and ensures safe work practices; maintains partnership with stakeholders and coordinates work activities internally and externally; formulates and communicates work activities, objectives and shapes perspectives.
• Investigates vehicle buying, leasing or other options, including the impact of environmental and technological developments; develops bid specifications and participates and/or makes recommendations on vehicles and equipment selections; prepares and manages operating budget and expenditure; monitors coordinates and administers maintenance services contracts; oversees inventory of tools and processes surplus items; controls parts purchasing, dispensing and inventory management activities and related needs.
• Monitors, coaches and fosters teams performance, competencies, development, diversity, inclusion, learning, customer focus and productive work environment; with management’s concurrence, recognizes and rewards achievements, completes corrective action and oversees consulting services; ensures practices consistently with Memorandum of Agreements, standards and safety obligations; conducts training including safety learning sessions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent or college coursework in automotive/equipment repair and administration;
• Six years of fleet operations management experience of which two years were in a of lead or supervisory role;
• Or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
• Must have a fleet management certificate from the National Association of Fleet Administrators or American Public Works Association or must obtain the certificate within one year in the position.
• A valid Automotive Service Excellence certification from National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence preferred.
• Must have a valid Class C California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Authority's Vehicle Insurance Policy.

Starting reward is between $73,056 and $85,073 per year (full pay range is between $73,056 - $95,001 - $116,946)

• Strong supervisory, verbal and writing skills to construct and present compelling information to promote organizational objectives.
• Must be flexible to work the third shift, holidays and adjusted schedule as operation require.
• Demonstrated collaborative interpersonal proficiency to engage teams, and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organization.
• Ability to deliver targeted results to specification, at cost and on schedule.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete assignments within expectation.
