ABOUT THE ROLE:


The Operations Finance Analyst will ensure daily operations are in compliance with company policies and accounting records are maintained in conformity with US GAAP. This role will act as a subject matter expert who partners with our local warehouse in Fort Mill, South Carolina to analyze financial data, identify business trends, recommend improvements and help us mitigate risks.


Responsibilities


  • Liaison with department managers to improve financial performance and gain efficiencies.
  • Track plant spending of expenses and investments against the budget
  • Implement systems and controls utilizing Great Plains to improve financial performance.
  • Prepare and analyze manufacturing reports for cost center reporting, benchmark metrics, purchase price variance for materials, process order variances, work in process, inventory levels and turns, shipping costs, returns, obsolete inventory, capital assets, etc; make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Improve inventory accuracy by managing inventory control systems including cycle counts & physical inventories; maintain records to document and explain variances.
  • Prepare all inventory-related journal entries at month end. Complete month-end and year-end reporting process to reconcile cost of goods sold and gross margin against financial statements.
  • Develop and update meaningful KPIs with the Operations team.
  • Develop and analyze cost variances on a monthly basis.
  • Direct and coordinate annual budget activities. Work with department managers to develop short- and long-term financial goals; use GP and other reporting tools available to measure the performance.


JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Must be adaptable in responding quickly and positively to growth of the business
  • Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments
  • 5+ years of related cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or textiles business
  • A positive attitude
  • Actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills
  • Strong communication including group facilitation and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; demonstrated influence and excellent communication style
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative
