Financial Controller

Location: Charleston, SC *Relocation Assistance Will Not Be Provided*

We are hiring a Financial Controller for an established client to provide financial support to operational functions. In this role, you will work closely with the leadership team to drive profitability, optimize costs, and continuously improve operational processes.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Analysis or a similar role in an Operations environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with financial systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand financial and operational data and its impact on the business.
  • Strong experience with CAPEX budgets.
  • Results-driven and proactive with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.


Essential Duties:

  • Participate in make-to-order projects and ensure successful implementation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives and drive implementation of best practices.
  • Improve financial processes and controls to enhance communication and alignment between Finance and Operations.
  • Investigate production variances, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve cost control.
  • Support month-end close process and assist in budget planning and forecasting for Operations.
  • Maintain production routings for accurate labor, overhead, and machine rates.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and provide support to the leadership team for financial analysis.
  • Develop and track KPIs to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance productivity.
  • Analyze and report on product costs and margins, providing insights to management and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide profitability analysis for capital expenditure requests and assist in make-or-buy decision-making.


Education:

  • Master’s degree in finance or business preferred.
