Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all finance, accounting, risk management functions. The candidate will identify opportunity for improvement and optimization and will provide solutions to drive enhancement and positive change. The candidate will develop and implement financial systems building upon the foundation and processes already in place. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to leadership team by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Prepare annual budget in collaboration with the operations team.
  • Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
  • Ensure that all activities and operations of the company are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Issue timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
  • Participate in the development of the strategic plan that fully supports the company’s financial goals, business model and core values.
  • Provide thought leadership and decision-making support and analysis to enable business growth and operational strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close process as well as annual audit.


Qualifications

  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organization. To anticipate problem areas in advance. Capable of solving simple to complex personnel problems.
  • Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes.
  • Restaurant and/or Retail Operations experience in a multi-unit environment that employs a wide range of exempt and non-exempt employees within multiple states preferred.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
  • Proficiency with current financial software
  • Experience with contract negotiations a plus.
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years experience in the area
