Financial Analyst Jobs

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting LiveOak Fiber’s financial strategy and operations. This position will analyze past and present financial data of the organization and estimate future revenues and expenditures, applying principles of finance. The Financial Analyst will assist the Chief Financial Officer in preparing reports for senior leadership and the board of directors with strategic vision and approach to improve the company’s overall financial health.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts
• Conducts and may lead audits
• May act as consultant to management on financial policies, procedures, and applications
• Develops financial/accounting concepts for financial planning and control
• May provide functional and technical direction to other staff members
• Documents revenues and expenditures expected and submits to management
• May assist communities in developing budget and efficient use of funds
• Assists in preparation of special studies, analyses, and recommendations in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, and business forecasts
• Interprets budgets to management
• May assist in financial analysis of legislative projects to develop capital improvement budget
• Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Results-oriented and meticulous
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
• Strategic thinker and problem solver who can design and implement strategic initiatives; anticipates problems and develops proactive solutions
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced with Microsoft Excel; ability to learn and adapt to new software
• Familiarity with private equity funding and capital structure
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial management and all local, state, and federal regulations
• Comfortable presenting reports in front of large groups and various stakeholders
• High level of personal integrity; models and is an example for the organization values; leads and fosters collaboration

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor / Master’s degree in accounting or Finance
• Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues
• Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance and SEC reporting.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
• 3 years minimum experience in an financial analyst role

PREFERRED QUALIFIICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• MBA
• Experience in a telecommunications company
• Advanced knowledge of private and public investment structure
• Experience in a start-up company
