What you will do:


The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team and conducts and documents complex financial analysis to assist in strategic financial decisions and plays a key role in supporting and developing analysis in a variety of areas including but not limited to metrics & dashboard reporting, Management reporting and presentations, and profitability and mix analysis.This role supports the large inflow of new financial analysis projects including some month-end closing duties, so good GAAP and accounting theory skills are necessary.This role will also assist in the development of appropriate metrics for the business to measure growth and profitability while assisting in delivering innovative, high value-added financial information for strategic decision making. This role works closely with the Finance Manager – Corporate FP&A, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, and the Director of Financial Planning & Operational Analysis.


Here’s a day in the life:


  • Assist with evaluation and reporting of current financial performance in several key areas
  • Supports Monthly Forecast modeling by consolidating key inputs to expected changes in category Margins and financial model updates
  • Utilize a computer with advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications, including exceptional knowledge of Excel.
  • Assists the Finance Manager – Corp FP&A in preparing monthly forecasts and annual budget presentations
  • Participates with cross-functional teams and provide financial analysis to evaluate investments and process changes.
  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Supports cross functional teams with the preparation of their annual budgets
  • Work under pressure, meet deadlines, produce accurate reports and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Act as a team player with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees within all levels of the organization.
  • Cross train with other Analysts to provide back up
  • Supports build and validation of data & analytics platform
  • Review Gross Margins versus budgets and forecasts and provide analysis for commentary and presentation development
  • Review SG&A expenses versus budget and forecast and support discussion with functional leaders on rest of year projections as required
  • Support monthly managerial and financial reporting, including generation of the financial reporting package
  • Communicate effectively.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and fully understand accounting theory.
  • High level ERP and system experience is required.
  • Consumer Packaged Good experience is preferred. Experience with a Cooperative is desirable.
  • CMA, CPA or CFA is preferred.
  • High level of efficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis and/or general accounting is required.
  • Experience in automating and improving processes to gain efficiency, improve accuracy and produce high quality work is required.
  • Past experience working through financial reporting and management reporting development and analysis is required.
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting or Business administration Required, MBA preferred
  • Strong Manufacturing experience is required.
