The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Finance Analyst to join our Finance Team! Reporting into our Finance Associate, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Executive Team on growth opportunities and operational improvements. As a member of our Finance Team, you will receive ample coaching and appropriate feedback as you grow and flourish in this role.

In this role you will…

• Assisting with month end activities (i.e. depreciation entries, manual journal entries) and billing customers
• Proactively looking for innovative processes, automations and reporting improvements to improve timeliness and speed of key financial deliverables
• Running reports to support management decision making
• Maintaining internal reports on key performance indicators (KPI’s) and supporting other strategic initiatives as they arise
• Preparing detailed excel reports for each revenue stream to support profit margin improvements
• Addressing client requests and/or inquiries related to financial account matters
• Assisting the Finance Team with working capital opportunities, potential opportunistic investments and managing operational challenges
• Collecting outstanding account receivables (i.e. reaching out to past due accounts and monitoring higher-risk customers, etc.)
• Day-to-day bookkeeping including inputting/reconciling invoices

Requirements

• Critical thinker excited about solving problems with long-term solutions
• Six months to one year of related experience, preferably in a startup environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, general formulas, graphs etc.)
• Accounting/Finance related post secondary education
• Highly organized, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Experience with XERO, QuickBooks or other cloud software is a plus, but not mandatory
