The Mechanic Service Technician will perform skilled and complex mechanical repairs to include; inspecting, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding and maintaining light and heavy duty equipment. This position will report directly to the Heavy Equipment Manager and will be required to perform have manual labor and work various shifts.

• Ability to engage in heavy manual labor for extended periods, in all types of weather and under various working conditions
• Coordinates parts runs; maintain sufficient parts inventory
• Responds to repair request
• Adjusts or repair hydraulic systems and components
• Participates in the selection of equipment and in the preparation of specifications for purchase.
• Investigate complaints and equipment malfunctions
• Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
• Trains new employees in all phases of work including the operation of equipment, use of tools and methods or procedures of work
• Inspects equipment, analyze trouble and plan sequence of repair operations
• Good traffic record.
• Trains and evaluates personnel in the use of shop equipment
• Ability to work effectively with the general public.
• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.
• Maintains and instruct others on proper safety procedures
• Performs Painting, heating, drilling, bolting, welding (MIG, Stick,), brazing, sand blasting, soldering, or cutting operations
• Adjusts, or repair and replace parts in engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes and other equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Performs road service on equipment as required
• Records daily work in Shop Floor system
• Performs highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs on both light and heavy equipment such as trucks, loaders, rollers, graders, bulldozers, gradalls, and tractors
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Analyzes performance of equipment
• Attends meetings and classes as identified by Boudreau
• Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with other employees.
• Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power driven equipment and tools.
• Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment.
• Performs the duties of a mechanic involved in hands on repairs and maintenance of vehicles
• Recommends improved work methods and procedures, assist in training employees
• Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Pay Range $35.65 - $47.75 per hour depending on experience
