Field Service Technician - Central Region - $3,000 Sign-On!

Milacron is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Des Moines, IA and surrounding areas. As a Field Service Technician you will be responsible for providing quality installations, maintenance, and repairs of plastic injection/extrusion equipment. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and circuits. A person who has installed, repaired, troubleshot robotics, major machine tooling, plastic injection molding machines, blow molding machines or extrusion machines would be a great fit for this position.

What you’ll do:

• Provide a high level of communication with both customer and office
• Perform schedule preventative maintenance activities on equipment
• Other duties may be assigned
• Install computer software programs to manufactured machines
• Troubleshoot and repair plastic injection/extrusion equipment
• Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed
• Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs

Basic Requirements:

• 2+ years’ experience in hydraulics, mechanics, and/or similar skillsets
• Associate degree in Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Great to Haves:

• Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
• High degree of understanding of installing computer software programs as they pertain to manufactured machines
• Machining and welding skills
• Overtime and out of town travel is necessary
• Proven mechanical and electrical skills
• 2+ years of work experience in plastic injection/extrusion equipment or similar types of equipment or machine tool
• Have and maintain a good driving record and cannot be afraid of heights
• Experience in repair and troubleshooting of military electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics of complex systems
